SCHEDULED WALKING TOURS OF DUBROVNIK

To join one of our scheduled walking tours - THERE IS NO NEED TO BOOK in advance - just turn up 10 minutes beforehand. Tickets are available on the spot from your guide.

All walks start by The Big Onofrio's Fountain. Look for a red umbrella with our sign.

The Discover Dubrovnik Walk

DEPARTURE:     Every day at 10:00 and 18:30
DURATION:        1 hour       

Would you like to be introduced to the main sights of Dubrovnik? This unique tour gives you the opportunity to explore the stunning architecture and history of this world famous City.

Witness Dubrovnik's rich history and discover its magnificent buildings, palaces and treasures. Accompanied by our experienced guide, who will entertain you with interesting details and stories, you will be given a tour which covers all the major sights of Dubrovnik’s Old City.

Starting at Onofrio's Fountain, which for centuries has brought fresh drinking water into the city; our route leads us along Prijeko Street to the Old Port, once the key of Dubrovnik's trading and maritime success.

St. Saviour's, the grandiose Franciscan and Dominican church, will be seen along the route, as well as a vine believed to be more than 100 years old.

While in the Old Port, the legends of the famous Quarantine and the nearby fortresses of St. Luke and St. John will be explained.

Ships from Dubrovnik were known throughout the Mediterranean: galleons and karakas, all of which were built and loaded in the legendary Arsenal, today the popular City Café, will be seen along the way. Stories and legends about the church of St Blaise, Dubrovnik's patron saint; the Cathedral; the Rector's Palace; Sponza Palace, and Orlando's Column will give you an overview to better understand and further explore the multi-layered past of the city.

At the very start of the 20th century the Balkan Peninsula was perceived as 'the restless corner of Europe'. Many who endeavor to explain what was actually going on feel that the deep, underlying reasons were not easy to understand.

The historical background will help you to see how recent conflicts have their roots in the past. Find out some of the misconceptions people had about the recent war, what it was like to live in a besieged town, and how everything returned back to normal. First-person accounts by your guide, stories from the ancient and modern history of the region, all in the spectacular setting of the Old Town, will give you a deeper insight into the true nature of Dubrovnik and its people.

The Old Jewish Quarter

Did you know that one of the oldest synagogues in Europe is located in the heart of Dubrovnik’s Old town?

Jews came to Dubrovnik in the 15th century and made an important cultural contribution to the development of the Republic.

This walk provides an opportunity to understand Jewish life in Dubrovnik and how it has changed through history.

The walk starts in front of Onofrio's Fountain and continues along Stradun, the main street, to Žudioska Street where the Jewish community was once situated. Here, in this street, you will visit the famous Synagogue established in the 15th century, re-built in 1652 and still in use today.
